The duties of the Creative Productions Intern include, but will not be limited to, the following:

Shadow C&O team members and collaborate on creative elements of communications strategies.
Design standard NYSTRS material such as business cards.
Build design elements for an organization-wide brand refresh.
Complete C&O requests submitted from other departments.
Research design trends and pitch ideas to C&O team for content refreshes and new material.

Position Summary

The NYSTRS Communications & Outreach (C&O) department is looking for a Creative Productions Intern. C&O manages the communications strategy for NYSTRS. This intern will have an opportunity to shadow and collaborate in creative productions coming out of Communications & Outreach. We have several standard tasks this intern will help us with, including designing business cards, designing material with the brand guidelines, and helping complete C&O requests within their ability. Stretch assignments include conducting research and creating design concepts for internal stakeholder engagement and video creation. Please submit 3-4 pieces (graphic design) that demonstrates your work.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be enrolled in a full-time bachelor's or master's degree program with at least one semester left to complete all degree requirements after the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in photography and videography.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Experience in Microsoft Office products.
Interest in motion graphics.
Completion of a 300-level course in graphic design
Ability to work well independently and collaborate with a team.
Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
Desire to research and implement communications best practices.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Work Modality

This position is subject to a hybrid work schedule.
