Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Education, Information Technology/Computer Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, Criminal Justice or closely related field and five years of specialized experience related to the duties of this position. At least two of those years must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Substitutions: A J.D or Master’s Degree may substitute for one year of specialized experience. A Ph.D. may substitute for two years of specialized experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of supervisory/management experience responsible for administrative support functions, including budget, procurement, records management, training, technology oversight, accreditation/standards compliance, etc. In-depth understanding of the DCJS mission and functions and how the crime analysis center network interfaces with other DCJS offices in achieving the mission and functions.
Duties Description Under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner, the incumbent will be responsible for the management and oversight of the administrative and support functions within the Office of Crime Analysis and Strategic Partnerships (OCASP), including budget/fiscal, training, and technology. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
• Act as the Financial and Procurement liaison with the office of Budget and Finance;
• Responsible for OCASP budget planning and managing associated tracking documents;
• Serve as the planning and implementation liaison with the Office of Human Resources Management, including administrative oversight of day-to-day Human Resources transactions;
• Coordinate with the Crime Analysis Center Program Manager to address staffing and fiscal needs of the various Crime Analysis Centers across New York State;
• Coordinate with the Office of Program Development and Funding on staffing services grants as necessary;
• Provide administrative oversight and support for the Crime Analysis Center Network Technology Unit;
• Maintain an understanding of technology related to crime analysis functions;
• Provide administrative oversight and support for the Crime Analysis Center Network Training Unit;
• Administer oversight of crime analyst training records in the Acadis Records Management System and interface with the Office of Public Safety as needed;
• Provide oversight of budget and procurement related to training contracts and Letters of Agreement;
• Oversee the overall inventory across the Crime Analysis Center Network;
• Participate in the development, execution, and management of the OCASP strategic plan;
• Manage the physical space within the OCASP administrative offices and all Crime Analysis Centers within the CAC Network;
• Oversee all renovation and building projects for the Crime Analysis Center Network;
• Coordinate all responses to FOIL requests and subpoenas;
• Serve as liaison with outside administrative support agencies and functions;
• Perform the full range of supervisory responsibilities.
Additional Comments Up to 10% travel may be required for this position.
