Provisional Appointment: In the event that there is not a valid eligible list, candidates who meet the qualifications may be qualified for a provisional appointment.
Note: If you are appointed provisionally, you must take the next scheduled Civil Service examination for this title and your score must be reachable on the resulting eligible list before you can be permanently appointed. If you do not pass the examination or achieve a reachable score, you may not be retained.

Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepares work schedules to ensure adequate coverage of all areas; schedules and coordinates shift and work assignments.
• Orients new employees in on-the-job procedures; participates in employee training on SLMS learning system and attends training classes as assigned, which may include occasional travel.
• Ensure that time and accrual records for food service staff are maintained according to facility policy and inputs information into TIMES system.
• Prepare/participate in performance evaluations after completing formal training on the process
• Advises subordinate employees as to acceptable work habits. Conducts counseling or disciplinary action following approved procedures.
• Inspects dining areas, pantries, and kitchens for proper sanitation and adherence to ICF regulations. Prepares written reports of inspection.
• Orders food and non-food supplies in accordance with established purchasing guidelines; supervises the storage of food and non-food items to ensure proper handling, rotation of stock, safety, and security.
• May conduct meal rounds to observe meal acceptance, identify problems, and solicit ideas which is then reported to the Dietitian.
• Ensure that food service and preparation equipment is maintained in operating condition by monitoring work control orders to ensure completion and/or to report excessive downtime of essential equipment. Assist in purchase of new equipment needs.
• Participate in receiving, organizing, storing and loading of food deliveries for distribution to residential units in all seasons.
• Maintains Emergency Food/Water Supplies per ICF Regulations
• May assist in food delivery via van which requires a NYS license.
• May do or oversee cash out and transfer of money from the program area to the cash office.
• Participate in Vocational opportunities for the Individuals who live on campus.
• Utilize computers to include email, TIMES, Microsoft Documents, SLMS, menu and production software and online ordering.
• May Perform same duties as lower level Food Service Workers
• PROMOTE Training required/secure mindset.
• NYS Driver’s License Required
• Other duties as assigned.
