Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and speak and write in English.

Duties Description The incumbent will report to the Office of Fire Prevention and Control's Academy of Fire Science. Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Under the direction of a high-level employee, the incumbent will perform a variety of activities related to the storage, preparation and service of food.
• Washing food service equipment, including garbage cans and general kitchen cooking utensils, by hand and machine, using a variety of cleaning substances.
• Store deliveries in appropriate storage areas.
• Bring food and other supplies to preparation and service areas, as directed.
• Cook grill-type foods such as hamburgers and eggs.
• Serve food in the proper portions to students.
• Ensure students on special diets receive proper food and portions.
• Wash and sanitize dining room areas including chairs, tables and floors.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Additional Comments Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, ServSafe food safety training and certification.

NOTE: Support of operations during times of emergency and disaster from State Emergency Operations Center (EOC), state field offices and/or local deployments may be required, which would result in a change and/or increase in working hours, locations and/or duties.
