Job Specifics

Duties Description Assist with day to day facility operations at NYS DEC Law Enforcement Training Academy in Pulaski, and EVOC training Center in Fulton, NY.
Assist with the operation and maintenance of DEC facilities, including buildings, wildlife management areas, fishing access sites, and state forests. Will be required to operate light and heavy equipment and power tools safely and efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications One year as a Facility Operations Assistant 1; OR, two years of full-time, verifiable experience in custodial, grounds, or maintenance operation or assisting in a journey-level trade. Must possess a valid New York State driver's license.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required.
Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.
Must be able to work in remote areas.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Travel may be required.
Overtime may be required.
Weekends and holidays may be required.
Must be available for emergency response.
Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
