Job Specifics

Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.

This Information Technology Specialist 2 hourly position is a backfill within the Chief Information Security Office/Asset Management bureau. This position will work with the many data and inventory control tools available as this office oversees the Asset Management data and processes for ITS. The position will also perform the following duties:
• Complete delivery of equipment to local stockrooms
• Maintain documentation of the data related to the deliveries
• Develop familiarity with the ServiceNow app or other similar tools
• Use IT knowledge and knowledge of ITSM to check for inconsistencies in the Surplus and CMDB Service Requests so the workflow can move forward.
• Utilize ITSM reporting to manage incoming requests and their status
• Work with IT staff and ITSM reporting to close those tickets
• Use ITSM reporting to Gather and organize the data inconsistencies within stockrooms based off the Physical Inventory Services requests
• Communicate and present information to the Asset Management team as well as other IT Staff during weekly meetings.
• Assist in the electronic waste process and managing asset records accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science.

OR

A bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field and one year of experience in information technology;

OR

60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science and one year of professional experience in information technology.

OR

Two years of professional experience in information technology.

Please note:

• Appointment to this position and continued employment with the agency is contingent upon obtaining and/or maintaining New York State residency within six months of hiring.

• Appointment to this position is not final until all agency approvals have been granted.

Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis. It is the policy of ITS not to hire F1 or H1 visa holders for permanent employment or to sponsor non-immigrant aliens for temporary work authorization visas or for permanent residence.

Some positions may require fingerprinting.

If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
