Job Specifics

Duties Description Assembly Member seeks a Community Liaison to support constituent services and community affairs work in the office and the community. This position will serve as a bridge and liaison between constituents, state and city agencies, and community initiatives on behalf of the office. The ideal candidate understands the progressive values held by the Assembly Member and will work to make government more accessible to the various communities we represent. This individual will report to the Chief of Staff.

Minimum Qualifications What you will need to be successful:
? Demonstrated commitment to, and understanding of, social justice causes important to the progressive Assembly Member, including, but not limited to, reproductive justice, immigrant rights, LGBTQ liberation, climate justice, and health equity
? Must be able to work evenings and weekends
? Proficiency in either Spanish, Bangla, or Arabic required (speaking required; writing proficiency a plus)
? Ability to work in the office and travel within the district and NYC to staff the Assembly Member
? Knowledge of and familiarity with the diverse, multicultural, and immigrant communities of Assembly District 34
? Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills with a consistent commitment to respectful, professional communication when engaging with constituents, community members, and diverse stakeholders.
? Strong time management skills with an eye towards efficiency and efficacy
? Ability to work under tight deadlines and can prioritize multiple tasks and issues
? Collaborative team player who takes and gives feedback constructively
? Ability to develop, nurture, and manage professional, respectful, and positive working relationships in a small but dynamic work environment
? Ability to work with basic computer applications, Google platforms, and Canva
? Previous casework experience is highly preferred
