Job Specifics

Duties Description Under the direction of the Trades Generalist, the duties will but are not limited to:
• Perform apprentice-level work in a primary trade in one of the following areas: plumbing, carpentry, or masonry and plaster.
• Assist the Trades Generalist with specific and targeted housing, cabin/cottage, and buildings rehab projects at Taconic State Park.
• Use hand tools, portable power tools, shop equipment, and measuring and testing instruments appropriate to the assigned trade.
• Assist with the coordination and execution of projects; carpentry repairs, including to but not limited to roofing, siding and foundation repairs; plumbing and masonry repairs; and clean up.
• Complete additional duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications There are no minimum qualifications per Civil Service.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must be able to perform medium to heavy physical labor tasks.
• Must be able to work from scaffolding or ladders.
• Must be able to work in a team and independently under supervisor direction.
• Must communicate effectively with other staff.
• Must communicate in writing and to read and comprehend written material.
• Must possess and maintain a valid New York State Driver’s License as a term and condition of employment.
