Job Specifics

Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.

- Manage large, complex projects involving modernization of legacy voice services.
- Provide level 3 technical support for UniteNY components and related systems.
- Subject Matter Expert for e911 implementation, deployment and troubleshooting.
- Subject Matter Expert for Voice Gateway implementation and support.
- Lead specialized team to develop automation tools for faster request processing.
- Interface with other ITS business units as well as third party service providers for support and troubleshooting UC application
issues.
- Teach, mentor and create procedures for the team to improve the groups problem solving techniques and ensure effective
transfer of knowledge among team members or other business units.
- Lead the preparation and maintenance of system documentation, including detailed written technical procedures and reports.
- Research, test, coordinate, and perform UniteNY application system updates to address security vulnerabilities, user impacting
bugs, new feature/functionality availability, and product lifecycles.
- Work with project management, customer contacts, and other ITS business units to identify business requirements and the
appropriate ITS unified communications solution to meet the customer requirements.
- Perform the full range of supervisory responsibilities.
- Working outside of normal business hours and on-call will be required due to the 24x7x365 nature of the applications supported
by this team as well as the nature of the work required to implement services for UniteNY users.
- Occasional travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 4 (Data Communications), SG25 OR in a position at the SG23 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades.

If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
