Job Specifics

Duties Description Daily operation and maintenance of infrastructure in all Region 4 campgrounds.
plumbing, electrical, and carpentry diagnostics and repair;
working knowledge of the operation of a variety of self-propelled heavy equipment; basic knowledge of the Vehicle and Traffic Law as it applies to the safe and legal operation of assigned equipment; basic knowledge of the routine repair and maintenance work needed for equipment; ability to use and operate a variety of hand and power tools; ability to operate assigned machine in a safe and effective manner; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions; ability to perform routine repairs and maintenance on equipment; ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor based on priorities set by others; orally instruct crew members in the activities and tasks to be performed and answer questions concerning work procedures; provide and explain simple written guidelines for work if they are available; personally observe work in progress and that which is completed to ensure adherence to instructions, guidelines, and schedules; keep written records of work performed and materials and labor used; may operate self-propelled machinery such as cars, trucks, construction equipment and riding mowers; may operate non-self-propelled machines.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be at least 16 years of age. Preference may be given to candidates 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.

Additional Comments This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2026, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.

Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.

Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required.
Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.
Must be able to work in remote areas.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Travel may be required.
Overtime may be required.
Weekends and holidays may be required.
Must be available for emergency response.
Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
