Job Specifics
Duties Description Duties include but not limited to:
Recommend prioritized business process improvements to ensure system functionality and operational efficiency across the agency.
Translate high-level business objectives into actionable recommendations for initiatives, programs, and projects.
Design and implement a comprehensive business architecture strategy to guide DMV operations and transformative initiatives.
Identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement in workflows and organizational capabilities.
Collaborate with the NYS Office of Information Technology Services to assess and document the DMV’s enterprise application footprint.
Maintain a detailed catalog of the agency’s primary business functions.
Develop and manage business architecture deliverables, including business capability models, value stream maps, and customer journey maps.
Lead and facilitate discussions with business leaders to align business capabilities with current and future organizational objectives.
Capture tactical and strategic agency goals, ensuring traceability and mapping to metrics for ongoing governance.
Promote and drive adoption of best practices to ensure standardization and consistency across the agency.
Elicit and document requirements to support vendor procurement processes, such as Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
Evaluate and validate the impact of new legislation, rules, and regulations to ensure alignment with organizational operations and goals.
Create clear documentation and compelling presentations to effectively communicate strategies and findings to management.
Maintain a collaborative environment that fosters and supports creative solutions and continuous improvement.
Demonstrate strong, professional, respectful communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Perform full range of supervisory activities for subordinate staff.
Other tasks as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications To be eligible for this position, you must meet one of the following conditions:
Ten years of professional experience in business strategy and process improvement in the areas of system operations and workflow optimization.
OR
An Associate’s Degree and eight years of the required experience as described above.
OR
A Bachelor’s Degree and six years of the required experience as described above.
OR
A Master’s Degree and four years of the required experience as described above.
Additional Comments Hours of the position will be discussed at the time of interview, including questions regarding Flextime, AWS/Compressed work week and Telecommuting.
