Job Specifics
Duties Description Duties will include but not be limited to:
• Overseeing the timely processing of all agency FOIL requests.
• Reviewing potentially responsive records to confirm responsiveness and identify records or portions thereof that qualify for FOIL exceptions.
• Making independent determinations on routine FOIL requests.
• Drafting proposed determinations letters for full or partial denials.
• Drafting all correspondence and conducting document reviews related to potential FOIL exceptions for trade secrets or critical infrastructure information.
• Consulting with the Public Information Officer and designated attorneys as appropriate.
• Non-FOIL related administrative tasks when assigned by supervisor or Legal Services’ senior managers.
Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 21 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK.
