Job Specifics

Duties Description The EMS and Trauma Data Support Unit Manager (Business Systems Analyst 2) serve as the lead business systems analyst and unit supervisor responsible for the design, operation, and continuous improvement of statewide EMS and trauma data systems. This position oversees enterprise platforms that support patient-level data collection, clinical reporting, system performance monitoring, and public health surveillance, ensuring that system functionality supports regulatory oversight, operational reporting, and data quality standards across the EMS and trauma systems.

This position plays a critical role in advancing the Department’s overdose surveillance and response capabilities. EMS electronic patient care reporting (ePCR) data managed through these systems serves as a primary source of near real-time information on suspected opioid overdoses and other time-sensitive public health events. The Unit Manager ensures that system design and functionality support early warning alerts, situational awareness, and coordinated response efforts, and collaborates closely with the Analytics and Research Unit to support data-driven strategies addressing the opioid crisis and other emerging public health threats.
