Job Specifics

Duties Description This is a trail maintenance position. The incumbent must have the ability to carry heavy equipment over rugged terrain for a long period of time. FOA1 positions perform unskilled physical work requiring limited or no training; may frequently work outdoors in inclement weather; may use hand tools and operate motor driven equipment and generally perform activities as part of a work crew. Experience using a chainsaw is desired but not necessary.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be physically able to perform the duties assigned. Possession of a valid New York State driver's license may be required.

Additional Comments This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 11/30/2026, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.

Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.

Must be able to work in remote areas.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
