Job Specifics
Duties Description Under the Supervision of the TRAID Director, the Grant Administrator Assistant will assist the TRAID Director in administering the TRAID program.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Directly work with and assist the TRAID Director in working with the Federal and State funding agencies for the Technology-Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities (TRAID) program which includes:
• Ensuring all program deliverables are achieved by contracted entities and are entered timely into the required federal data collection system.
• Extract data and produce comprehensive financial and programmatic reports required by funding partners that demonstrate compliance with all obligations. Submit reports in accordance with varying deadlines.
• Attend and participate in annual National conferences and any other training or workshops where information about Assistive Technology is available.
• Share all pertinent information which may impact financial or programmatic operations with Justice Center Admin staff and contracted agencies
Assist with providing oversight, direction and technical assistance to 12 Regional TRAID Centers (RTC) contracted by the Justice Center:
• Responsible for assisting with communication to RTCs about any programmatic changes required by funding agencies.
• Assist with providing training and technical assistance on programmatic and financial requirements to all contracted entities.
• Assist with conducting on-site visits to RTCs located throughout the state to provide in-person training, provide feedback on their operations and ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.
• Assist with creation of job aids, guidance documents and training as needed to build the knowledge and skills of RTCs for executing all contractual obligations and service delivery expectations.
• Assist with education and training on entering all AT demonstrations, loans and other required activities into NATADS.
• Assist with coordination of the semi-annual RTC director meeting.
• Assist with coordinating with JC admin and contracts staff to create and collect all expenditure and vouchering processes.
• Assist with ensuring that all expense and programmatic reports are submitted to the Justice Center on a timely basis and in compliance with program requirements.
• Possess a working knowledge of Grants Gateway and the application for and administration of funding through it.
• Assist with elevating and solutioning any contractual compliance issues noted with the RTCs.
Other duties:
• Assist with recruitment and orientation of members for the federally required Interagency Partnership on Assistive Technology (IPAT) and coordinate and lead all meetings.
• Represent NYS and TRAID on various stakeholder workgroups and at conferences and also provide outreach and education on assistive technology at community events across the state.
• Create and keep updated the agency website pages on TRAID and any outreach material regarding TRAID and AT.
• Respond to and appropriately refer any TRAID related inquiries coming into the JC Information Line.
• Identify any potential collaborations or additional funding streams for RTC’s.
Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive: Six years of experience* as a professional advocate or service
provider in rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, mental health, child welfare,
juvenile justice, or homeless youth.
Preferred qualifications include:
Grant management and provision of technical assistance to contracted entities to ensure compliance with deliverables; working knowledge of assistive technology devices; experience working in, or with, Regional TRAID Centers; proficient knowledge of data collection and extraction for purposes of formal state and federal reporting; request for proposal drafting and scoring; ability to travel throughout NYS and beyond for site visits and conferences.
