Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title or one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c service in a title SG-16 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law. For appointment as a Budget Analyst Trainee, candidates must have one year of permanent service as an SG-11 or higher and be otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service law. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work independently and as a team member with strong attention to detail and accuracy along with strong mathematical skills; good verbal and written communication skills; familiarity with Oracle Financial Management System and the Statewide Financial Systems (SFS) is preferred.

Duties Description The incumbent of this position may rotate throughout the Finance Office units including the Budget Unit, Local Assistance Grant Contract Unit, Accounting Operations Unit and Business Office. Initially, the incumbent will report to the Business Office and will provide direct supervision for the state operations accounts payable function, assist with procurement related functions, and contract monitoring. The incumbent will work closely on budget related issues including cash ceiling, purchasing, and cost center utilization. The incumbent will also assist with the close-out process for fiscal year and new year process implementation.
