Job Specifics
Duties Description The Long Term Care Systems Specialist 1 HLTH, assigned to the Office of Health Insurance Programs (OHIP) in the Division of Health Plan Contracting and Oversight, will support the Bureau of Managed Long Term Care on the Survey/Compliance team. This position includes but is not limited to the daily activities related to ensuring Managed Care Organizations in New York State compliance with the regulations, statutes, and the Medicaid Contract. Specific duties may include: Participating in the survey process from scheduling to closure; Review and issue of survey related results and correspondence; Participating in External Quality Review Organization (EQRO) Focus Surveys designed to test and confirm access to care; Assist in the development of Policy and Procedures, surveillance methodology, tools and protocol; Review of Corrective Action Plans to ensure completeness and compliance with established standards; Assist in analyzing survey data and preparing summary reports of findings; Support the coordination of survey logistics and communication with managed care organizations; Special Projects and other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Reassignment:
Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Long Term Care Systems Specialist 1 (Health).
NY HELPS:
Six years of experience* administering or analyzing disability, aging, health, or social service programs for older adults, three years of which must have been in the development, delivery, or monitoring of long term services and supports.
*An associate degree may substitute for two years of experience; a bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of experience; and a master’s degree may substitute for five years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate would have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
