Job Specifics
Duties Description The Tutoring Center Director will be responsible for the operations and development of the Tutoring Center, including tutoring, workshops, and supplemental instruction activities, and recruiting, scheduling, training, and supervising tutors. The Tutoring Center is available to all students and offers assistance in a wide range of disciplines. Other activities include support of academic integrity, workshops for study skills and academic support, assessment of tutoring center operations, and coordination with academic departments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate, organize, and oversee the daily operation and activities of the tutoring center.
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise tutors for general (group and individual) tutoring sessions, workshops, and supplemental instruction.
Develop and maintain the tutoring center's schedule of tutoring activities, supplemental instruction, and academic workshops.
Design and lead staff training and ongoing professional development informed by current best practices in higher education pedagogy and learning center administration.
Maintain communication and coordination with other support services and academic departments to offer tutoring services based on needs in each subject area.
Maintain and verify student budget and payroll, following college policy and procedure.
Research, collect data, and prepare a variety of participant and program activity reports for assessment.
Assess the impact of tutoring on participants.
Maintain CRLA certification.
Oversee Graduate Exam Preparation Program.
Oversee and monitor tutoring services contracted with outside vendors.
Promote tutoring center programs and activities campus-wide.
Ensure representation of the Tutoring Center at campus events.
Engage in ongoing professional development in learning center pedagogy and administration.
Engage in service activities such as participation on campus committees.
Perform other duties as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Tutoring Center Director supervises student tutors and, as applicable, professional tutors
Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree
Five years of experience in higher education
Knowledge of student academic and social challenges and retention programs
Experience with instructional and tutorial techniques and methods applicable to a diverse range of students, including those with physical, emotional and learning disabilities.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across multiple departments as a member of a team and with faculty and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a college tutoring center.
Knowledge of College Reading and Learning Association certificates.
Knowledge of Supplemental Instruction.
Additional Comments Salary Range: $57,151.00 - 65,000.00
