Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; Three years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and training adults; Three years of demonstrated experience and knowledge in the field of safety and health; Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including PowerPoint) and use of Internet; Experience in labor-management setting preferred; A satisfactory equivalent combination of appropriate education and experience as determined by the NYS & CSEA Partnership for Education and Training and the NYS Governor’s Office of Employee Relations.
Duties Description The Employee Program Associate for Safety and Health is responsible for providing a variety of programs and services to support safety and health initiatives for CSEA-represented employees and agencies throughout the State. The Employee Program Associate works closely with the Manager of the Labor Management Services Unit, the Partnership’s Co-Directors and the Co-Chairs of the NYS & CSEA Safety and Health Labor-Management Committee (S&H LMC). Extensive travel throughout the State is required. Duties include, but are not limited to: Facilitate, coordinate, and support all activities related to the S&H LMC; Provide effective training in safety and health topic areas, using knowledge of adult learning theory to achieve positive training results; Coordinate use of consultants for worksite training requests from facilities throughout the State; Deliver consultation services to facilities seeking training; Develop work plans to respond to requests from agencies and Labor-Management Committees; Facilitate the development of curriculum that is client-specific and address the needs of the agencies and training participants; Conduct and coordinate the review of curricula to ensure the critical elements of content, quality and design are contextualized; Develop and maintain program expertise in the safety and health field; Provide oversight of the Partnership’s Safety & Health Grants Program; Conduct workforce development needs assessments through outreach, presentation, and consultation sessions.
