Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Current permanent status as a Licensed Master Social Worker 2 and qualified for lateral transfer ~OR~ Eligible for transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law ~OR~ Reachable on the current Licensed Master Social Worker 2 eligible list.

Candidate must possess experience treating patients with occurring addiction and mental health disorders. Be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain licensure, certification and Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment.

The McPike ATC is a Tobacco-Free Facility.

Duties Description Position will function as a member of an interdisciplinary clinical team. Duties will include: triage of patients presenting with psychiatric issues, conducting mini mental status exams, communication with medical providers regarding medication recommendations for presenting psychiatric symptoms, conducting didactic and skill-building groups for patients with co-occurring disorders, providing individual and group counseling, carrying a caseload of 3 – 5 patients, treatment and discharge planning, and monitoring the clinical environment and following all McPike ATC and Bureau of Addiction Treatment policies and procedures. The position requires handling complex issues and to exercise independent judgment in performing those duties. It may also involve supervising clinical staff and may include training of clinical staff. Other duties will be assigned as needed. For external candidates, a criminal background check will be required.
