Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Laborers must be physically able to perform the duties assigned. Possession of a valid New York State drivers license may be required.

Duties Description The incumbent performs a variety of routine manual tasks requiring medium to heavy physical effort, to assist in maintaining, constructing and repairing buildings, roads, offices, other structures, furniture, facilities, and campus landscape associated with grounds tasks.

Incumbent will perform routine activities such as using a forklift, pallet jacks, power tools, dollies and hand trucks, mowers, weed eaters, and tractors. May frequently work outdoors in inclement weather. Will use hand tools and operate motor driven equipment, and generally performs activities as part of a work crew to perform upkeep for the campus grounds and landscaping. May need to move heavy supplies, equipment and furniture.

Positions serve in the Grounds Department.
