Minimum Qualifications Reachable on the Department of Civil Service Eligible list for Auditor 2 OR permanent or contingent permanent status as an Auditor 2 OR eligible to transfer.

Duties Description Under supervision of the Internal Control Officer (ICO), the incumbent will exercise independent judgement and be responsible for the following tasks, including but not limited to:
• Learn the working of the New York State Statewide Financial System (NYS SFS) and perform data collection, compilation, review, analysis, and preparation of reports both independently and as directed.
• Perform budgetary and expenditure account analysis of selected high-risk areas as part of the annual internal control review process.
• Learn and master the following financial areas through understanding and documenting their process flows and functionality (including internal controls): The budgetary process, purchasing (including contracts), revenue, and payments.
• Develop process flowcharts for major financial and other key processes within the bureaus and offices. Review process flows with applicable bureau or office staff and provide update reports to the ICO.
• Learn the OAG property control system, review records and reconcile assets to the OAG and State records systems. Provide review reports (including findings) to the ICO.
• Provide partial supervision of the Auditor 1/ Auditor 1 Trainee position as directed by the ICO.
• Perform other functions as assigned by the ICO or the OAG Chief Operating Officer – COO (and/or their designees).
• To better develop an understanding of NYS OAG and its environment, collect, review, and assemble agencywide policies and procedures (P&P). Act as a librarian for these P&P and advise Bureaus and Offices on their status and/or applicable updates.

• Develop the ability to troubleshoot accounts, systems, and P&P as a means of identifying control weaknesses and risk.
• Perform other functions as assigned by the ICO or the OAG Chief Operating Officer – COO (and/or their designees).
