Minimum Qualifications The New York State Senate seeks an experienced individual to join their Accounts Payable Department as the Accounts Payable Coordinator-Contracts and Travel.
Minimum requirements for an Accounts Payable Coordinator typically include an associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field or three years of accounts payable experience.
Other qualifications may include:
•Experience: 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting
•Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, business acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
•Software proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounts payable software
•Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Analytical skills: Strong quantitative and analytical abilities
•Accounting knowledge: Basic accounting principles, knowledge of payables, budgeting, and accounting best practices
Duties Description The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for the following:
•Responsible for assisting the AP Manager and AP Deputy Manager with supervising day-to-day transactions associated with travel and contracts
•Assists AP Manager and Deputy Manager in the review and evaluation of Senate contracts for submission to the State for review and approval
•Assists the AP Manager and Deputy Manager in evaluating all contract transactions, including tracking contracts and encumbrances information in SFS and SFMS systems
•Supports the Chief Fiscal Officer in retrieving data and producing reports associated with requests for information
•Serves as the data collection officer for the Fiscal Office
•Any other requests from the CFO of the Senate
Additional Comments Salary range is between $58,000 to $70,000, commensurate with education and experience.
