Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive service as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or eligible for a 70.1 transfer. OR Current Licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in New York State.

Duties Description Provide professional psychiatric nursing services appropriate to youth diagnosed with mental illness. Provide primary health care working in collaboration with licensed psychiatrists, assessing the physical and psychosocial status of youth by means of interview, health history, physical examination and diagnostic tests. Ensure patient safety through the appropriate prescription and management of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. Identify, measure, and monitor clinical and related behavioral outcomes to determine the effectiveness and appropriateness of the plan of care. Ensure that proper protocols are followed when obtaining informed consent for psychotropic medications. Participate in treatment team meetings. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.
