The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The Clinical Laboratory Consultant (CLC) will inspect source plasma donation centers. CLCs are responsible for conducting on-site evaluations of staff qualifications and collection and testing procedures including the evaluation of facility standard operating procedure manuals and review of records; reporting of findings to the facility's staff; documenting findings in descriptive narratives and survey evaluation reports; and determining the acceptance of a facility’s proposed remediation by reviewing the plan of correction.
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, or a chemical or biological science, AND three years of post bachelor's
professional experience in a laboratory that tests clinical specimens or environmental samples, or tissue bank, or blood bank or physician practice.
A master’s degree in one of the bachelor's degree fields may substitute for one year of professional experience. A doctoral degree in one of the bachelor's degree fields may substitute for two years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of clinical laboratory testing, quality assurance, audits and applicable New York State laws and regulations. Must be well organized and work independently as well as having excellent written, verbal communication, and computer skills. Must be willing to travel within New York State.

This position may require travel throughout New York State including overnights to areas not served by public transportation.
