Minimum Qualifications License to practice medicine in New York State or current limited permit to practice in New York State and maintain permit or obtain full New York State licensure to continue employment. Must have MD, MBBS, or DO degree and 1 year post graduate training and 2 years subsequent medical experience.

Duties Description Serve as clinical practitioner on an advanced level and provide medical leadership. You may be in charge of a small medical-surgical service, specialize in an area in which there are no speciality boards, such as geriatrics or drug abuse. You would administer and actively participate in the general medical care of the patients for whom you are responsible, assigning patients to subordinates and conferring with them on diagnosis and treatment programs. You would also participate in planning, developing and improving delivery systems and establish community relationships with other providers and facilities. As a "specialist" you would be consulted on and provide medical treatment for specific types of patients presenting unusual medical problems. You might be assigned responsibility for reviewing the medical care of patients.
