Duties Description BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the general direction of the Economic Development Program Administrator, the incumbent of this position will assist with the origination and regional management of projects; coordination of Capital Region Economic Development Council (CREDC) activities; as well as the development and implementation of goals set by the CREDC, while promoting economic growth.
WORK PERFORMED:
• Review applications, including CFAs, submitted to Empire State Development (ESD) for assistance; evaluate for eligibility, ranking, and recommendation.
• Conduct project analysis and review.
• Work as part of a project team.
• Assist applicants with project development.
• Correspond with applicants, as needed, to perform project reviews.
• Assist in the preparation of Incentive Proposals, which includes working closely with businesses/organizations.
• Utilize ESD databases and tracking systems to generate information and prepare customized reports for evaluation and tracking of awarded projects.
• Assist in the preparation of directors’ materials, letters, memorandums, project status reports, and other documents appropriate for the review/management of projects.
• Ensure project compliance with regulatory requirements and schedule and hold public hearings.
• Assist in the coordination CREDC meetings and related activities.
• Provide support to the CREDC work groups.
• Assist in the preparation of various CREDC related documents, including updates to the CREDC Strategic Plan.
• Respond to the inquiries from small businesses, MWBEs, start-ups and other businesses that come to the Capital Region Office.
• Represent ESD at public hearings for project presentation and other functions, as necessary.
• Assist the Regional Director, other staff of the CRO, and the CREDC, as necessary.
• Travel required (approx. 15%).
Additional Comments SALARY RANGE: $84,156 - $106,454
Note: The starting salary for candidates with no prior State service will be set at the minimum hiring rate.
