Minimum Qualifications Capital District Psychiatric Center is recruiting a Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric to supervise registered nurses and direct care. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates from outside and within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric if they have:
• License and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State, and
• 3 years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness, addiction, or substance use disorders.
Substitution: Bachelor’s degree in nursing can substitute for 1 year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience; and a master’s degree in nursing can substitute for 2 years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
OR
Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Nurse Administrator 1 Psychiatric or Nurse Administrator 2 Psychiatric eligible list.
OR
Candidates from within State service may be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description As Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric, you will supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned nursing and direct care staff including:
• Directing and reviewing the work of nursing staff
• Preparing and monitoring staffing schedules
• Developing daily staffing plans for nursing care
• Ensuring compliance with established standards of nursing care in accordance with State, federal, and accreditation agency requirements

1. If you fail to maintain your license and/or registration once you are appointed, action will be taken to remove you from the position.
2. In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program). If you are appointed and subsequently listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of these lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program), you may be terminated from your employment.
3. If appointed, you may be required to become an enrolled Medicare provider; obtain and provide to your employer a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number issued by the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES); and otherwise actively participate to the degree necessary to allow for your services to be billed through Medicare and Medicaid. If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.

Additional Comments:
Posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 22 ($79,928), an Increase Hiring Rate ($10,536), Geographic Pay Differential ($20,000). The posted job rate is the sum of the statutory job rate ($101,197), Geographic Pay Differential ($20,000).
Additional compensation may apply based on shift assignment.
