Minimum Qualifications Applicants may be appointed to this position if currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list; OR Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service in a position allocated to a Grade 23 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 as appropriate of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description The incumbent will report to the Office of Counter Terrorism's Domestic Terrorism Prevention Unit. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Lead, and coordinate Domestic Terrorism Prevention Unit (DTPU) projects, ensuring alignment with the unit’s and the division’s strategic goals.
• Implement and oversee project management tools and methodologies to track progress and deliverables.
• Regularly assess project timelines and adjust plans as necessary to meet deadlines.
• Provide guidance to the unit team members in managing project plans and deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure clarity and alignment on project goals and strategies.
• Conduct regular assessments of team productivity and project outcomes.
• Analyze data and trends related to targeted violence and terrorism and use findings to inform project strategies.
• Prepare and present reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
• Adapt project approaches based on emerging needs, challenges, and opportunities in the field of targeted violence and terrorism prevention.
• Develop, modify, and evaluate policies and protocols governing team operations, projects, and outreach.
• Evaluate the impact of the DTPU’s mandates, processes, and projects.
• Periodically meet with stakeholders to answer questions, review program roll-out, and determine the effectiveness of program planning and implementation.
• Collect and analyze data related to domestic terrorism and targeted violence prevention efforts and unit projects to compare new and innovative approaches in order to facilitate the development and implementation of new initiatives advancing the agency’s mission.
• Work cross-functionally across the DHSES enterprise in order to synthesize efforts necessary for successful project implementation.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission or other program areas.
• Travel may be required.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicle is required.

Additional Comments NOTE: Support of operations during times of emergency and disaster from State Emergency Operations Center (EOC), state field offices and/or local deployments may be required, which would result in a change and/or increase in working hours, locations and/or duties.
