Minimum Qualifications To be eligible for appointment, candidates must be reachable on the OMIG promotional list for Medicaid Integrity Specialist 2 OR be a current New York State employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience overseeing audits, particularly those involving Medicaid and Managed Care Organizations.
• Knowledge of the Medicaid Managed Care/Family Health Plus/HIV Special Needs Plan Contract and other federal and state laws and regulations that govern Managed Care Organizations.
• Knowledge of OMIG’s audit process and familiarity with applicable regulations.
• Ability to work independently as well as with others to resolve conflicts and audit issues.
• Excellent written and oral communication, grammar, and editing skills; critical, independent thinking, and analytical skills; excellent reading comprehension.
• Communicate professionally and effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite and ability to learn new data systems.
Duties Description Duties include but not limited to:
• Conduct and lead the reviews of managed care organizations (MCOs) to evaluate their compliance with program integrity sections of the Medicaid Managed Care/Family Health Plus/HIV Special Needs Plan Contract.
• Research and propose solutions regarding issues encountered during the review of MCO’s.
• Coordinate, attend, and lead meetings with other program divisions.
• Respond to routine correspondence with MCO representatives.
• Supervise, train, and oversee staff in conducting reviews.
• Perform a full range of supervisory functions including but not limited to assigning and evaluating work and completing performance evaluations.
• Participate in the resolution of reviews through administrative and litigation processes.
