Minimum Qualifications Applicants may be appointed to this position if currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list; OR are a current New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services employee with one year or more permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Program Aide and are interested in reassignment; OR Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 11 and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 as appropriate of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of office procedures and methods, including communications, office systems, and record keeping.
• Personal computer skills and knowledge of various software packages including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives as required.
• A high degree of interpersonal skills is required due to this position having a high degree of interaction with many people of varying backgrounds on a daily basis.

Duties Description The incumbent will report to the State Preparedness Training Center (SPTC) Training Support Unit. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Confer with program managers to answer questions regarding expenditures that may be awarded for part time instructors delivering training in accordance with State Finance Law and Division of Budget (DOB) guidelines.
• Assist with onboarding of new employees such as setting up and maintaining e-mail, LATS, SLMS mandatory training, and RSA tokens.
• Liase with DHSES staff and external stakeholders.
• Assist with coordinating the SPTC training schedule.
• Produce reports and statistics.
• Assist in the preparation, rewview, evaluation, and analysis of a variety of reports and other documents specific to the assignment.
• Assist with ordering and tracking training material.
• Assist with updating course material, working closely with subject matter experts.
• Create and maintain course announcements.
• Add to and update the student database and course registrations in Learning Management System (LMS).
• Update and maintain course/student evaluations database.
• Perform other assignments and duties as required.

Additional Comments NOTE: Support of operations during times of emergency and disaster from State Emergency Operations Center (EOC), state field offices and/or local deployments may be required, which would result in a change and/or increase in working hours, locations and/or duties.
