Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR PERMANENT APPOINTMENT:
• Currently serving as a Treatment Team Leader DD and eligible for transfer OR
• Reachable on the Civil Service List for Treatment Team Leader DD OR
• One year in a permanent title eligible for 70.1 or 52.6 transfer per Civil Service Rules and Regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT: If appointed on a provisional basis, you must participate in the next Civil Service examination(s) and be a reachable candidate in order to obtain permanent status and maintain your position.
Candidates must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office For People With Developmental Disabilities and have had three months permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in one of the following titles (including parenthetics) listed below:

Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Treatment Team Leader will function as part of the Regional Field Office as an Eligibility Unit Leader and will be responsible for the following:
• Provide leadership to the entire eligibility process for the Long Island Regional Field Office
• Supervise Eligibility Unit Staff which may include Licensed Psychologists, Psychologist 2s, Licensed Master Social Workers, and Administrative Assistant 1s among others.
• Monitor operational functionality, consistency, and quality of Eligibility review process in compliance with NYS legislation and OPWDD policy.
• Ensure the unit is following, and is trained in changes to, policies and procedures
• Monitor, assign, and report on workflow and assignments to ensure unit efficiency
• Track statistical information for monthly and quarterly reports
• Participate in statewide Eligibility policy making and implementation
• Track and Ensure Completion of Medicaid Fair Hearings for both Nassau and Suffolk Counties
• Respond to inquiries from families, schools, hospitals, care coordination and service access agencies, internal staff and others concerning eligibility
• Participate the Statewide Eligibility Community of Practice meetings
• Provide training to staff and community groups regarding OPWDD Eligibility process
• Act as a Regional Office Liaison for Advocacy Services
• Participate in Special Projects and assignments as required;
• Review and approve requests for time off and maintain timesheets in TIMES. Ensure adequate unit coverage.
• Knowledgeable in TABS, CHOICES, and Microsoft 365 applications for management of data.
Selection Criteria:
• Possess excellent and professional communication, public speaking, writing and organizational skills;
• Ability to initiate and maintain working relationships with others such as families/individuals, advocates, community representatives, voluntary providers, other state and county agencies, DDRFO, DDSOO and other OPWDD staff;
• Computer knowledge and ability to maintain databases and monitoring systems;
• Possess excellent supervisory skills;
• Ability to coordinate and participate in requested functions and activities. Such functions may occur during evening hours and weekends.
