Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
No Minimum Qualifications per Civil Service.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience working in a direct public service setting is preferred.
• Fluency in English and at least one other language is preferred.

Duties Description DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position will assist the historic site manager or education director in administrative and interpretive duties at Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Assist the Historic Site Manager in administrative duties.
• Answer phones, respond to public inquiries, and communicate effectively with staff and park visitors.
• Assist the education director with planning and delivering special events and programs.
• Assist with visitor services.
• Perform light maintenance duties.
• Maintain and promote a safe working environment by applying good safety practices.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently, as well as with others.
• Must possess proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with other staff and park patrons in a responsible and courteous manner.
