Health Systems Specialist Trainee 2: A bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience in accounting, auditing and finance; administrative operations; budgeting; communications, marketing and public relations; corrections and criminal justice; economics, research and statistics; environment; health and human services; human resources and training; information technology; natural and physical sciences; service regulation and compliance; transportation.

Health Systems Specialist 1: A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in accounting, auditing and finance; administrative operations; budgeting; communications, marketing and public relations; corrections and criminal justice; economics, research and statistics; environment; health and human services; human resources and training; information technology; natural and physical sciences; service regulation and compliance; transportation.

**Permanent Transfer: Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent permanent, competitive service in a Health Systems Specialist 1 (G18) position OR a NYS employee in a position G16 or higher and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite; customer-service skills and comfort communicating in various forums with variable audiences; ability to interpret State regulations; and a team-oriented mentality; organizational skills and practices. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments.

Duties Description The Centralized Complaint Intake Program (CCIP) operates during the business hours of 8:30am-4:45pm Monday-Friday excluding major holidays. The incumbent will be part of the holiday and weekend on call coverage on a rotating basis. Complaints are received via an offsite call center housed within the Office of Children and Family Services, via email, phone, referrals from other Departments and agencies, fax, and letters. CCIP staff review each facility incident report or complaint to determine if the allegations are or may be regulatory noncompliance, triage based on federal guidelines, route for investigation to the appropriate regional office and program, and/ or refer the case to another state agency. The incumbent will log complaints generated from long term care facility residents and their families, facility staff, advocates, and other stakeholders. Complaints are logged into a centralized database and communicated to surveillance teams, requiring accurate data entry and triage. The incumbent will run various reports and assist in other duties as assigned.
