Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

OR
• Reachable on current Civil Service eligible list for DDPS 1;
OR
• Eligible for 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable to DDPS 1 by the Department of Civil Service (must also be within 2 salary grades of a grade 21).

PROVISIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• You must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a position at a Grade 16 or above. Qualifying titles are available at: Department of Civil Service (ny.gov).
**If appointed on provisional status, you must participate in the next Civil Service examination(s) and be a reachable candidate to obtain permanent status and maintain your position.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The DDPS1 position is a critical item providing the supervision and day-to-day direction to staff on the Waiver team in Region 3. This position provides supervision to Waiver team members and programmatic supports to Care Coordination Organizations, families, and individuals electing to receive Waiver services in Region 3.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The DDPS 1 will be under the supervision of the Waiver Team Leader within the Regional Office and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Waiver Unit as necessary.
• Supervise the Waiver Liaisons, process flow and participate in the evaluation of Waiver service delivery, meeting system goals, and meeting service expectations of individuals, families, and advocates.
• Provide Supervision of the assigned Waiver team within the 18 counties covered by the Regional Office.
• Perform administrative tasks including ongoing communication and direction at Team Meetings, complete required reports, and share policy and procedure requirements.
• Develop and maintain staff schedules and resources.
• Ensure Team Members have a working knowledge of OPWDD menu of supports and services and associated criteria. Provide training and identify clear expectations.
• Coordination with Care Coordination Organizations, Central Office, and provider agencies to ensure provision of Waiver services for participants.
• Ensure timely HCBS Waiver enrollment.
• Provide information and technical support as needed to individuals and families/providers regarding Waiver enrollment and service authorization.
• Participate in regularly scheduled meetings, trainings, and various committees as directed by the Regional Leadership Team.
• Create efficient workflows that maximize timely HCBS Waiver enrollment and service authorization in compliance with applicable rules and policy.
• Ensure the Waiver Liaisons’ operational compliance with relevant OPWDD memorandums and administrative guidance.
• Utilize databases, spreadsheets, and Microsoft products such as word, TEAMS, and SharePoint to enter, review, monitor and analyze service authorization information.
• Travel as needed.
