Minimum Qualifications • Reachable on current Civil Service Selective Certification list for this title; OR
• One year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. Eligible titles include but aren’t limited to: Information Technology Specialist 3, Information Technology Specialist 3 (Data Communications); Information Technology Specialist 3 (Database); Information Technology Specialist 3 (Systems Programming).

Duties Description Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
As a member of the IT Asset Management and Requisitioning team, the incumbent of this position will play a key role in ensuring that the IT purchasing process runs smoothly and that technology assets are managed correctly. Examples of tasks include but are not limited to the following:
• Managing, track and documentation of Information Technology inventory.
• Assist ITAMAR staff with procurement and licensing problems as necessary.
• Manage Information Technology assets for 2000 agency employees.
• Coordinates ITS purchases as needed with Procurement and Contracts.
• Knowledgeable about the NYS Procurement process and systems.
• Ensure that the Information Technology Services Department has the necessary tools needed for agency business continuity purposes.
• Ensure ITAMAR processes and procedures are kept up to date.
• Identify and recommend solutions to problems identified by stakeholders related to
procuring and managing Information Technology related goods and services.
• Supervise lower-level staff, train new and existing staff.
• Streamline procurement activities within the ITAMAR team.
• Oversees the ITS software download process.
• Develop training plans for ITAMAR staff
Additional Comments For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
