Minimum Qualifications • Reachable on current Civil Service Selective Certification list for this title; OR
• One year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. Eligible titles include but aren’t limited to: Information Technology Specialist 3, Information Technology Specialist 3 (Data Communications); Information Technology Specialist 3 (Database); Information Technology Specialist 3 (Systems Programming).
Duties Description As the supervising manager in the Vulnerability Management Team, the incumbent of this position will supervise a team of professionals responsible for the management of IT infrastructure security scanning at NYSIF. The incumbent will provide direction of staff operations and system administration in accordance with policies, procedures, and strategic goals to ensure a strong security posture of ITS systems. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Oversee infrastructure security scanning, including the execution of security scanning, processing software deployment migration requests, vulnerability reporting, vulnerability remediation and vulnerability exception processing.
• Lead and coordinate application and infrastructure security scanning initiatives as well as ongoing upgrades and maintenance.
• Generate reports from our On-Premises tools and conduct data analysis on existing vulnerabilities.
• Provide technical support as needed for software quality assurance solutions to assist with enhancing NYSIF's DevSecOps program.
• Responsible for the installation, upgrades and maintenance of on-prem 3rd party software.
• Maintain technical procedure documentation for changes to workflows.
• Identify opportunities to automate processing to reduce manual efforts and integrate ITS security scanning tools.
• Supervise infrastructure security g18s.
• Participate in the technical evaluation of new technologies.
• Ensure all necessary resources are available to staff to ensure a successful work experience.
• Assist in analyzing and reviewing application vulnerabilities with our our application development staff.
• Manage our daily scanning process by identifying and evaluating network vulnerabilities with on-prem tools.
• Identifying and troubleshooting scanning problems.
• Ensure that appropriate actions are taken to reduce the risk of compromise to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Information Technology Resources.
