Transfer: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a title eligible for transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Please Note that under Civil Service Law, an employee cannot have two consecutive upward 70.1 or 52.6 transfers without an intervening eligible list appointment if such transfers would exceed two salary grades
Duties Description The New York State Department of Financial Services seeks to build an equitable, transparent, and resilient financial system that benefits individuals and supports business. The Department of Financial Services is seeking candidates for the position of Program Aide, SG-13 in the Office of Financial Management. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Places orders for commodities and services as directed;
• Maintains purchasing card records and receipts to create purchasing and auditing records;
• Reviews invoices for accuracy and correlation to purchase orders, as applicable, and obtains necessary approvals, ensuring all NYS procurement rules and Department procedures are followed;
• Communicates with vendors via telephone and/or e-mail to resolve discrepancies with invoices;
• Utilizes the Purchase Tracking System to submit invoices to DFS personnel for payment approval;
• Utilizes the Statewide Financial System (SFS) to process purchase requests and prepare purchase orders and responsible for associated calculations and transaction reconciliations;
• Utilizes SFS to review and verify receipt of goods;
• Prepares, verifies, and makes electronic bank deposits while maintaining accuracy;
• Updates and reviews financial data and records as well as compiles and prepares financial reports and records, as directed; and
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary: $51,857 – $63,169
