Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Licensed Master Social Worker – Licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and have one year of post NYS licensure professional social work experience; **
OR

Licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Registration and licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor are not considered qualifying.

** Professional social work experience involves activities such as screening, assessing and diagnosing individuals' and families' psychosocial needs, strengths and limitations; participating in the development of treatment plans and discharge plans; counseling and educating individuals, groups and families to promote mental, emotional, physical and social functioning; helping access needed services; providing client/patient advocacy and crisis intervention; and developing, coordinating and evaluating services and support systems. Experience limited to social work research or social work administration is NOT considered qualifying.

Continued employment as a Licensed Master Social Worker is dependent upon current licensure and registration by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Loss of licensure or registration may result in removal from employment.

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position will serve as a Licensed Master Social Worker for a division within the Developmental Disabilities Regional Office 2. Divisions within the Regional Office include the following: Service Access (Front Door and Waiver Services), Eligibility, Self-Direction, Housing, Crisis, Property/Development, Fiscal, and Quality Management/Technical Assistance.
Regional Office 2 supports over 1,800 individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in 20 counties of NYS: Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Clinton, Cortland, Delaware, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, St. Lawrence, Tioga, and Tompkins. Supports are provided via a network of approximately 110 agencies who are the direct providers of services. Travel to the three districts within Region 2 may be required, as well as intermittent travel to other areas of the state.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the Department Lead with receiving, reviewing, and processing forensic notification requests.
• Maintain knowledge and understanding of OPWDD policies and procedures. Review ADMs, Protocols, Policies and Procedures as released and conduct training and ensure implementation.
• Represent the DDRO in local & statewide meetings regarding OPWDD Services and changes in the service delivery systems
• Assist and participate in any Regional Office Quality Review and Quality Assurance as related to OPWDD service authorization
• Participate in local and statewide meetings and other trainings and workgroups as indicated.
• Foster effective collaboration and communication with individuals, families, Care Coordination Organizations, agencies, Local Government Units, local Courts, attorneys, jail/prison, and other community stakeholders.
• Participate in the regular maintenance of the Region 2 Policy and Procedural Manual.
• Provide technical assistance to Care Coordination Organizations, OPWDD provider agencies, including Intensive Treatment Options and judicial entities as needed.
• Manage multiple simultaneous projects, spreadsheets, and data in an organized and efficient manner.
• Assist with OPWDD Enrollments, Track Service requests and authorizations, Monitor TABs Reports as necessary.
• Participate in Local and Statewide Committee calls
• Travel/Site visits to programs, jails, prisons, ITOs and agencies may be required
• May provide supervision to departmental staff as determined by need
• Additional tasks/duties/projects as assigned
