Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Reassignment: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Manager, Educational and Vocational Services Coordination 1.
Eligible List Appointment: Candidates must be reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for this title. If you are on the Civil Service eligible list for this title, you may receive a canvass letter. You must complete and return it as instructed on the letter.
Section 70.1 Transfer: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as an Associate Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.
Section 52.6 Transfer: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title allocated to M-1 (SG 24/25) or higher eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
Provisional Appointment: In the absence of an eligible list with three or more candidates willing to accept a position, a temporary provisional appointment may be considered. For provisional appointment, candidates must be a current New York State Education Department employee AND have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as an Assistant District Manager Vocational and Educational Services, Associate Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, or Employment Specialist for Individuals with Disabilities 2. Provisional candidates must take the examination for Manager, Educational and Vocational Services Coordination 1 when it is next offered, and must be reachable on the resulting eligible list to maintain employment.
Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s Office of Adult Career and Continuing Education Services – Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) is seeking candidates for a Manager, Educational and Vocational Services Coordination 1 position in the Albany VR Central Office’s Quality Assurance and Monitoring Unit. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Manage the Quality Assurance and Monitoring Unit;
• Work collaboratively with Service Delivery as a combined Unit;
• Hire and supervise Unit staff;
• Assist with internal and external audits and monitoring;
• Manage the Due Process program for ACCES-VR
• Monitor Unit’s completion of 5 district offices and one statewide review annually;
• Monitor Unit’s completion of a minimum of 60 vendor reviews annually;
• Review data analysis and all reports generated by the Unit;
• Undertake additional assignments as needed.
Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a permanent or temporary provisional appointment. Provisional candidates must take the examination for Manager, Educational and Vocational Services Coordination 1 when it is next offered and must be reachable on the resulting eligible list to maintain employment. Promotions and transfers may change appointees’ negotiating unit. Candidates should be aware that changes in negotiating units may affect their salary, insurance, and other benefits. This position will require 40% in-state travel.
Leads to a maximum salary of $127,474 based on performance advances.
