Minimum Qualifications NON COMPETITIVE QUALIFICATIONS:
Seven years of experience* in equal opportunity, diversity, and inclusion, or human rights; OR one year of state service in an equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, minority business, employment compliance, human resources, or training position allocated at or above Grade 18.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Prior experience in a Diversity and Inclusion Position in a state agency or authority.
• Ability to proactively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs and issues.
• Solid organizational skills with demonstrated ability of managing sensitive issues while remaining fair and equitable acting with discretion and objectivity.

Duties Description The Office of Human Resources and Administrative Planning oversees all staffing and personnel transactions, including recruitment efforts. As the Department carries out key initiatives to transform the way services are delivered to partner agencies and to the public, this position will play an important role in ensuring the success of these modernization efforts.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Equal Opportunity Specialist 2 in Office of Human Resources and Administrative Planning duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Coordinate the development and implementation of diversity and inclusion and equal opportunity initiatives of the Department including but not limited to the Departments diversity plan
• Develop relevant programming to enhance employee’s cultural awareness
• Develop and conduct trainings on equal opportunity issues and diversity topics related to employment and provision of services
• Assist with the drafting and implementation of the Department’s measurable actions of its 5-year Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan while articulating plans, goals, and objectives to executives and other levels of management with the agency
• Analyze data and produce reports related to Department diversity and inclusion and equal opportunity programs
• Making determinations and processing reasonable and religious accommodation requests
• Review recruitment packets and develop recruitment strategies that promote and increase diversity within the Department of Civil Service (DCS).
• Attends events and represents DCS administration on matters related to DEIA
