Duties Description Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Administration, SG-NS of the NYS Justice Center, the Director of Operations will provide service to Justice Center’s 18 regional offices through establishing policies and procedures for raising issues pursuant to facility, fleet, and technical matters and in analyzing the current status of Justice Center facilities to determine suitability for operational needs. The Director of Operations will provide ongoing support to Justice Center’s home office in Delmar and to all other Justice Center facilities throughout the state. Specific duties are as follows:
• Provide oversight of both fleet/facility operations and technology operations for the Justice Center
• Management of issues at the Justice Center home office and regional locations including day-to-day tenant issues, long-term planning, building maintenance issues, and liaising with OGS/ITS
• Collaboration with other Administration units for space planning, management, and tracking at home office and regional sites
• Coordination with ITS and/or vendors related to network equipment, upgrades, and maintenance
• Liaise with ITS for Agency priorities, appropriate escalation of issues, and coordination of ITS-supported services (software upgrades/migration, patch testing, etc.)
• Procurement and management of hardware for Justice Center offices, conference rooms, and enclaves
• Oversight of the Justice Center’s statewide Fleet Administration program
• Management of Justice Center mail processes, including collection/distribution of the Main Office mail/packages and shipping/receiving Justice Center commodities between offices
• Organization and processing the transfer, surplus, and disposal of all State property
• Coordination of onboarding/offboarding activities, including imaging and activation of Justice Center devices and OGS ID cards
• Oversight and management of pertinent security camera and card reader systems
• Management of Justice Center end-user support services and technology asset inventory
• Participation in special projects, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
*Substitutions: four years of specialized experience or associate’s degree and two years
of specialized experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree; J.D. or master’s degree
may substitute for one year of specialized experience; Ph.D. may substitute for two
years of specialized experience.
