Duties Description The Student Assistant duties in Office for New Americans (ONA) will include but are not limited to the following:
• Assisting the senior program manager for the New York State Office for New Americans June Ramirez Initiative in achieving the initiative’s mission to increase access to disability services for new Americans through partnership, outreach, and sharing multilingual resources.
• Developing a tool kit on disability services to assist the ONA network to build its capacity to connect new Americans with available disability resources and services.
• Supporting the initiative’s research and development to create informational materials, training resources, and surveys about access to disability services for new Americans.
• Analyzing initiative data and creating visualizations and reports of findings.
• Managing and assisting in the distribution of multilingual disability resources, including Voyage (an illustrated resource book on the early identification of disabilities).
• Assisting in administrative tasks including scheduling meetings and taking notes as needed.
• Support with other ONA tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be currently enrolled as part-time or full-time undergraduate, or graduate college students at an education institution accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the United States (U.S.) Department of Education/Secretary of Education.
Preferred Qualification
• Excellent communication skills (written & oral).
• Strong organization and time management.
• Takes initiative and works independently.
• Quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.
