Duties Description First level supervisor; supervises and work with staff to motivate and attend to the personal daily living needs of the developmentally disabled individuals in their care.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Developmental Assistant 2 who fulfills this position will be expected to complete all duties with the following responsibilities:
• Plans, organizes, and monitors work of subordinate staff, role modeling, training/orientation
providing directions and clear expectations with prescribed methods of completion.
• Institute clear responsibility and accountability.
• Ensure completion and timely submission of subordinate staff T&A records via TIMES and
complete yearly performance evaluations.
• Provide recognition and support along with feedback needed to improve work performance.
• Maintain staff scheduling and prudent management of extra time and overtime.
• Arrange and participate in inclusion activities and outings.
• Perform monthly audits on individual and petty cash accounts.
• Identify house maintenance and submit work orders for repairs.
• Coverage for Direct Support Assistants as needed.
• Complete required staffing and payroll reports.
• Attend supervisory meetings and trainings and conduct monthly staff meetings.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must currently be employed as a Developmental Assistant 2 at OPWDD
OR
a Developmental Assistant 1 with one year of experience and eligible for promotion to Developmental Assistant 2.
OR
Reachable for appointment from the Civil Service List.
Additional Comments • Please note that starting salary for this title reflects the increased hiring salary and geographic pay differential. Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for Grade 13 ($51,587), Increased Hiring Salary ($6,464) and Geographic Differential ($4,000). Geographic Differential added to the job rate ($63,169).
• If you are currently a New York State employee serving in a permanent competitive qualifying title and eligible for a transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, you may be appointed to this title as a permanent competitive employee.
• For CSEA positions: Local Bidding Agreements will be honored.
• Preference will be given to OPWDD employees impacted by closures. If you are being impacted by closure, please indicate this on your resume.
• All OPWDD employees must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Continued employment will depend on maintaining eligibility.

The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments have been made under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.
