Duties Description As a Correctional Facility Specialist (CFS) 2, the incumbent will serve as a senior field representative and will perform expanded CFS 1 duties. The duties will include, but are not limited to: prioritizing assignments; planning and scheduling fieldwork; formulating and facilitating problem resolution; assisting facility administrators in developing policies, procedures and acceptable plans to correct violations; formulating maximum facility capacity ratings for local correctional facilities; providing minimum staffing analyses to local correctional facilities regarding the number of staff necessary for providing inmate care, custody and control; analyzing facility regulation variance requests, formulating recommendations, and preparing proposed SCOC responses; and assisting in the training of newly assigned staff in all facets of a CFS 1. Depending on assignment, up to 40% required travel is possible, including overnight travel.
Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title or one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-19 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law, or a reachable score on the Civil Service eligible list for this title.
Preferred Qualifications: An enhanced understanding of SCOC policies and practices; and the ability to exercise independent judgement.
