Duties Description As a Health Program Administrator 2, you will serve as a liaison between state and federal agencies with regard to controlled substance scheduling, and licensing. You will provide written and verbal responses, as well as prepare and provide presentations for healthcare professionals, professional organizations, and other partners regarding controlled substance laws and regulations; assist in the development of controlled substance programs and policies, regulations, and laws. You will also assist in Bureau initiatives and programs and supervise staff as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 2, G-25 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above G-23 and deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with policy, program development and implementation in public health care. Interpretation of federal and state guidance. Development and delivery of presentations, excellent written and verbal communications and ability to produce reports are preferred.

Telecommuting is allowed with supervisory/managerial approval. However, telecommuting must not exceed 50% of time per bi-weekly pay period.

Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
