Duties Description Reporting to the Crime Analysis Center Training Coordinator, the Criminal Justice Program Specialist 2 (CJPS2) will support training operations within the Crime Analysis Centers (CAC), ensuring DCJS crime reduction strategies are available to support community police services. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
• Develop, review, and implement materials for trainings
• Create PowerPoint presentations
• Draft training booklets and other appropriate printed materials
• Work with external training providers and subject matter experts to identify relevant training opportunities for the CAC network
• Draft letters of agreement (LOAs), etc. for external training resources
• Develop post-training analysis of attendance and evaluations
• Draft recommendations for changes based on evaluations
• Oversee the roster tracking process for trainings
• Initiate and work with staff on training logistics, contracts, etc.
• Provide in-classroom instruction as needed
• Work with DCJS Admin. Services, ITS, and OCASP Technology staff to ensure in-classroom technology is configured and functioning properly. May also assist with seating, registration, etc. as necessary
• Manage the level 1 crime analyst certification exam and level 2 certification process
• Create and post content to the CAC network SharePoint site
• Plan, coordinate, schedule, and execute webinars and other online trainings
• Assist in the planning of CAC-related content for the annual Public Safety Symposium
• Conduct field visits to CACs as needed and as requested
• Prepare training update materials for CAC Directors meetings and quarterly Board meetings as requested
• Serve the role of Training Coordinator in their absence
• Supervise subordinate staff and contractors
Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title or one year of permanent-competitive or 55/C service in a title SG-21 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law.
