Minimum Qualifications Reachable on current NYS Department of Civil Service Eligible List for this title; or, one year permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law. Eligible titles include, but are not limited to: Manager Information Technical Services 1, Business Systems Analyst 4 (various parenthetics), and Project Manager 3.
Duties Description Works closely with NYSIF departmental staff and other stakeholders to define and develop requirements for new initiatives relating to NYSIF’s Information Technology (IT) systems and business processes. These It system and business process initiative will be the outcomes of an ongoing Business Process review (BPR) of NYSIF’s four core functions: Claims, Underwriting, Premium Audit and Field Services. The Business Systems Analyst 4 will be expected to apply a wide range of specialized knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business systems. Assist with the implementation of Lean Management across the organization, focusing on eliminating non-value added activities (waste), improving productivity and achieving sustained continual improvement. Responsible for Values Stream Mapping which is the development of a high-level visual representation of a process flow that is involved in delivering a product of service to the customer.
