Duties Description Under the direction of the Regional Business Officer, or their designee, the Sustainability/Utility Assistant will be trained and learn about Executive Order 22, a directive to state agencies to adopt a comprehensive sustainability and decarbonization program aimed at enhancing New York State’s environmental performance within Taconic region.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Process payments for utility purchasing including but not limited to Electric, gasoline, fuel oil, propane and water.
• Collect data for an annual report, analyzing data to assist the region with best practices as it relates to sustainability.
• Monitor and track the solar contracts as well as the refuse and recycling contracts within the region
• Projects or other duties as assigned as needed.
Minimum Qualifications There are no Civil Service minimum qualifications.

Additional Comments PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills/Abilities:
• HS diploma
• Preference will be given to those who demonstrate they have 2-year or 4-year College degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• Candidate should be able to demonstrate their efficiency in Microsoft programs, especially, Outlook and Excel, other programs will be taught but having computer proficiency is a must.
OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Be willing to train facility staff once proficient in the tasks.
