Duties Description As a Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 2, you would:
• Provide oversight to an assigned team within the Regional Office structure.
• Lead regional level efforts related to assigned team, to advance OPWDD policies and initiatives. Work closely with Leadership staff in directing the day-to-day activities of the division.
• Coordinate and oversee ongoing services and support via direct and/or remote supervision of division(s) within the Regional Office.
• Provide support to the Executive Leadership team by representing the needs and opportunities within the division, through provision of data, agency specific information, etc.
• Participate as an active member of the RO expanded leadership team.
• Develop and maintain data elements to objectively evaluate effectiveness of supports and services in meeting agency expectations.
• Ensure ongoing communication and collaboration with peers from other state agencies and units of local government who provide supports to the individuals and families we serve.
• Ensure that DDRO 2 division staff members are seen as a valuable resource by individuals, our provider network, local agencies, elected officials and OPWDD administration.
• Provide supervision and oversight to all division staff for administrative duties, ie. completion of required training, timely completion of TIMES, proper documentation/ submission of travel, etc.
• Flexibility in work schedule is essential in support of the role of the regional office across multiple communities. Travel may be necessary

Minimum Qualifications Must currently be a permanent Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 2 and interested in transfer.
OR
Must be active and reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 2.
OR
One year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service in a salary grade 23 or higher and eligible for 70.1 transfer as determined by the Department of Civil Service.
PROVISIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
If there is not a valid eligible list, candidates who meet the following promotion qualifications may be qualified for a provisional appointment. To qualify, candidates must have one year of permanent service as a Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1 or Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1 (Spanish).
If appointed on provisional status, you must participate in the next Civil Service examination(s) and be a reachable candidate to obtain permanent status and maintain your position.

Additional Comments • If you are currently a New York State employee serving in a permanent competitive qualifying title and eligible for a transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, you may be appointed to this title as a permanent competitive employee.
• The assignment of PS&T employees will be made in accordance with any agreed upon Memorandum of Understanding between PEF and the local DDSO regarding the posting of job vacancies.
• Preference will be given to OPWDD employees impacted by closures. If you are being impacted by closure, please indicate this on your resume.
• All OPWDD employees must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Continued employment will depend on maintaining eligibility.
• If you are employed by state government you may be able to receive loan forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF). The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments have been made under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer. • Paid Parental Leave:
